Colophon
How this site is put together, for anyone who finds that sort of thing interesting.
The build
Static HTML generated by Astro and served from Cloudflare's edge. The stylesheet is hand-written; Tailwind is here only for its reset and to turn the palette into custom properties, and not one utility class is used. There's no client-side JavaScript and nothing to hydrate. The page weighs a few kilobytes, works with stylesheets off, and prints cleanly.
Type and colour
Source Serif 4 throughout, self-hosted as a variable font subset to Latin so it arrives in one small file. Body text is 20px. One accent colour, on links only. Dark mode follows your system setting, since a toggle would need JavaScript.
One source of truth
Every fact here — my role, employer, location, the list of roles, the FAQ answers — lives in a handful of typed data files, and both the visible prose and the structured data are generated from them. Search engines and language models compare the two, and a site that disagrees with itself is treated as less trustworthy. Making them incapable of diverging was easier than remembering to keep them in sync.
Machine-readable bits
Each page carries a single JSON-LD graph built around one Person node with a stable identifier. Everything else references it, so the FAQ answers, the article list and the work history resolve to the same person rather than several who share a name. There's an llms.txt at the root too.
